Kemari Festival (Spring)

11:00 - 12:00

This festival is held twice a year, once in the Spring, and once in the Fall. After the shrine ceremony, the members of the Kyoto Kemari Preservation Society play Kemari, kicking around a hacky-sack like ball while dressed in their traditional Shinto garments. There is no victory or defeat, just a game that involves kicking out a ball to make it easier for the opponent to kick.
